You might remember that a few months back we brought you the news that Mercedes might revive the Maybach name on a special edition top of the range Mercedes S-Class. Fresh reports have come in that suggest that Daimler will revive the Maybach name on a special edition S-Class to be shown in November and will be unveiled at both the Guangzhou and the Los Angeles auto. Daimler AG pulled the plug on Maybach production at the end of 2012 after its dismal performance as compared to similarly priced luxury limousines from Rolls Royce and Bentley, but the iconic name will carry on in the form of a range-topping Mercedes Benz S-Class.

The Mercedes S-Class Maybach will come fitted with soft-touch leather and bespoke materials to woo well-heeled customers from Asia and the United States looking for only the best. As mentioned before the, the luxury limousine will be showcased at the Guangzhou and the Los Angeles auto shows in November and will directly take on the likes of Rolls Royce and Bentley. As per reports, the S-Class Maybach will be priced considerably higher than the Mercedes Benz S600 which is priced from €165,000 ($228,000 approximately) in Germany.

The Maybach will come with a wheelbase that will be 200mm or 7.8 inches longer than the extended version S-Class which will give extra leg space and will make it the longest limousine in the Mercedes line-up until the Mercedes Benz Pullman state limousine comes out which is still under development.
